cheap ideas to floor a basement? help?
I have a concrete floor and it is flat no cracks to worry about. I can spend 50-75 dollars. What is the best way to floor it? This will be used as a bedroom. I heard of buying carpet samples and laying them together but there are not many carpet places around me and the ones that are do not sell them. I have looked on craigslist and not found anything. There is a remnant store but it will cost around 130 dollars and I am not sure carpet is the best way to go because I can’t put padding to the extra cost. Has anyone painted the floor and then used area rugs? or is vinyl a better solution? help please. btw floor is 11×13.
Floor paint is definitely an option…maybe your best option, in fact.

The “pro”s of these tiles is that they are cheap and easy to install…just peel and stick. You might have to cut some tiles to fit, but that’s also easy…just use scissors.
The “con”s of these tiles? They a pain in the anatomy to remove! I spent days prying them up piece by piece with a screw driver. Then I had to use a professional adhesive remover to remove the glue that was left behind.
If you don’t plan to remove them any time in the foreseeable future, tho, they’re a wonderful option.
