Billiards experts- pool cue advice?
Whats the main difference between high end cues and cheap ones besides exotic woods and difficult inlays?
I’m confused about the difference between say a Viking (expensive) vs. Dufferin (inexpensive) cue. Is it just the name?
There are also a variety of locks for 2 peice cues.. is one significantly better than other?
Its mostly the over all quality of the material and the process of how the cue is made. So say if you called Jacoby cues and ordered a custom cue, they are going to make it to your specs with high quality material and its going to be made by their hand work as very likely 1 of a kind. Now take the Viking (decent quality for a production cue) or Duff where they make a thousand of the same cue. There is an employee on a line putting your cue together rather 1 cue maker hand crafting your cue. Also low end cues do not take the time to let the shafts set and they usually warp. That’s is a basic gist. When it comes to cue quality you get what you pay for. Just don’t ever buy anything from China.
