Concrete Countertop Sealer
How can i, do i refinish my concrete countertops?
I poured concrete countertops in my kitchen about 6 years ago and now they need to be refinished. i would like to sand, repaint/recolor/stain, and seal them, as over the years some of the conrete sealer has come off , leaving porous areas on the countertop. the concrete was poured in place, and as time has passed they have also slightly pulled away from the wall creating a little crack, what should i use to seal these cracks? thanks for your help and suggestions!
Also what kind of sander would work best? wet sander? dry sanding? kind of sand paper? thanks
They make concrete patch that comes in a tube and you put it in a caulk gun, you can seal the cracks with that, as far as refinishing goes, you can sand and re-stain them no problem, all the products you need for that will be at your local Home Depot/Lowe’s. If they were stained in the first place, you want to re-stain, not put some other product over the top of what’s already there, you want to stay with the same type of application you did the first time, whether it be stain or what have you. Concrete stain comes in all colors and I think it looks hot.
