I’ve been quoted $30.00 per quare foot…I have a 2000 square foot basement…$60,000??????????
I’m just completing a basement renovation in my house in DC. It’s tough to get a standard without knowing the insides of the place. It all comes down to how “CLEAN” the lines are. If it’s 4 walls and a celing, then you CAN get a fixed cost based on square feet. BUT… if you have many areas that need to be “boxed-in” – such as furnace, hanging pipes and ductwork, sunken windows, under stairs, etc., it can be tough to estimate based on square feet alone. You are best to have people check it out in person and give you a written estimate.
I just did all the work myself and it took a few months doing it on the side, but tiling the bathroom and installing celing lighting added up. Drop me a line if you want to talk further.
