Foundation Sealer
I have water coming in my downstairs by where they wall and the floor meet. What is the deal?
Help. This is about a yard and a half below ground level. I’m assuming it’s a foundation problem and have a water sealer coming to look at it this morning. What can I expect?
I mopped up about 5 buckets full of water in a 10 hour period yesterday but now that the rain stopped everything is dry. The ground if definately saturated near the leaking. Thanks for the great info so far.
We aren’t plannng on living here much longer. Actually we want to put the house up for sale in the spring.
Don’t assume a foundation problem. More likely a drainage problem. Concrete, brick, cinder block…they’re all porous and will transfer water.
If this is a recent problem, you need to figure out where the water started coming from. Broken pipe? Leaking pool near house? Gutters clogged? Hose running outside?
Sealing is not a bad thing, but you might just be wasting money to treat the symptom but not addressing the problem.
