Garage To Game Room Renovations
Is this appropriate?
I’m moving into a 2 bedroom house. Here’s what it comes with:
Brand new kitchen cabinets and brand new cherry oak floors in the kitchen.
1 full bath.
Huge soundproof game room, including a pool table and full bar.
2 couches and a coffee table.
2 acres.
huge front deck.
garage used for storage.
Here’s what it doesn’t have:
Floorboards/baseboards.
Needs to be painted.
Needs kitchen sink, bathtub fixtures, and floors need to be cleaned, as well as couches.
holes in the wall of the closet need to be drywalled.
insulation needed.
A LOT of work needs to be done to the yard.
The list goes on and on.
Is 400 dollars a month, including rent and utilities, really appropriate? I mean, I’m spending money on paint and brushes and flooring and all kinds of stuff that I never thought would be necessary. I’m virtually doing all of the renovation alone…
What do you all think?
It depends on where you live. If it were in California I would say it is a great deal. If you lived in my state, I would say the deal isn’t bad but you might want to keep looking. Personally, I would never pay rent and fix up a property that someone else owns. With the way you described the property it would be illegal to rent in my city.
