Moving MS Office 2007?
Okay, I got MS Office 2007 Enterprise through my school for a good price and installed it onto my laptop. Later, I moved and got a desktop and now I need Office on there. I can only buy that disc once through my school, and it got lost during the move. How can I move it from my laptop to my desktop??? And btw, the activation code was on the disc cover and is now also lost. I really don’t wanna hear “ur screwed.”
Bad news, I’m afraid. You can’t move Office from your laptop to your desktop. It needs to be installed as when you install the programme it writes many items into your system registry. You’ll also need your activation code to install it.
A way of obtaining your activation code would be to download and install Belarc Advisor, a free programme that will give you a breakdown of the hardware and software that make up your laptop … listing various serial numbers too.
Sadly, you’re still going to need the CD to install the programme.
