Regulation Pool Table Size
I want to try out for the 7th Grade Volleyball Team next school year (Staring in September). Help?
I have always loved the sport of Volleyball and I have alwasy passed the Volleyball section of Gym Class of pasdt three years. However, I really want to brush up on my Volleyball skills this Summer before schools starts up again. There is a local pool that has basketball courts and a Volleyball Court in the back my the tables and suntanning chairs. My friends Amber, Stephany, and Lauren are all going to try out for Volleyball so I was thinking we could go to the pool, practice, then take a dip when we get hot. I want to buy books on how to play correctly so any advice on good books or where to get Sports Books? Also, any very nice volleyballs that I could buy at sports stores that aren’t very hard but regulation size? And any advice on exersizes to work the stomach, leg, and arm muscles?
Volleyball is awesome. That is very cool that you are going to start playing in 7th grade. Because you are starting so young you will have advantages over other girls that do not start until high school.
You really do not need any books or anything at this age. You should just play a lot. If you are going to play 2 v. 2 all summer that is outstanding. You will get lots of touches (serving, bumping and setting). If you can come up with an overhand serve before tryouts that will really stand out.
When you get to tryouts just be agressive and a good team player. If you pretent like you are playing 2 v. 2 you will get to a lot more balls than the other girls and that will stand out quite a bit.
As a high school coach looking at middle school players, I want to see players that will hustle all the time, players that refuse to let the ball hit the floor, players that will listen to a coach and players that have a decent overhand serve already.
