Sports Game Room Lights
How can I make him understand…?
My husband is a huge sports fanatic. He plays basketball a few times a week. When he is not playing, he is always watching a game or just sports center. He will watch a game, basketball, football, baseball and/or UFC, and then he HAS to watch the high lights of the game he just watched. How can I get it through to him that this is affecting our relationship. Our nights consist of me in 1 room and he in another. I have tried talking to him hundreds of times. He will do good for a couple weeks, then we are having the same argument. I try to get involved and will watch sometimes, ask questions, or just do anything to get him to pay attention to me instead of the TV all the time. It just gets old after a while.
Yep I understand sister girl I had the same problems with him and the computer and well I am a computer person too but sometimes I get tired and he always wants to play games. Hell I play games too but how much can you really play a game? I tried to get his attention as well by getting involved in the games that he likes and the things that he is into but when it seemed that everything that I was into was the same and the things I want to do was kicked to the curb I felt alone. I forgot who I was because now all I lived for was to please him.
It almost seemed that I was no longer his wife and I was now his buddy, his game pal or his comforter. These are for your kids not your husband.
I suggest that you guys share interests if he doesn’t do what you want to do then you know that you have to get a marriage counselor because you would have marital problems. Marriage is a partnership and I think that you have to be 50/ 50 for it to work not 99/1 and this is what is happening. You are doing all the work in this relationship.
Go up to him and ask him if he wants things to work out and if so he needs to cooperate. Tell him that you feel alone in your marriage and you need more from him. Make him know that he is neglecting you and the marriage for a game that can live on forever but you aren’t sure by the rate he is going at if you relationship will. I think that he might give you an opening ear with that one. You dererve more,,,
