Walkout Finished Basement House Plans

whats your opinion on finishing my basement?

So im about to begin finishing my basement in Massachusetts where the winters are cold and the summers can be very hot. Just bought the house and the front part of the basement is half underground and the back is a walkout basement.I use a dehumidifier just cause the unfinished basement has a basement musty smell but no visual water. All walls have been plumbed (for inlaw apt) mostly all wired about 90% of it. and fully studded with 2×4’s. so the plan is to refresh the paint on the walls to prevent the moisture(unfortuantly i will have to just try to get underneath the studs ). Then I was planning on using kraft faced r-19 which is 6 1/4 inch thick, but also considering using kraft faced r-13 because that what everyone else is using online. Am i just wasting more money or the thicker the insulation the better? then i was planing a vapor barrier over that, stapled to the studs. then up goes the drywall. not planning on insulating the interior walls since its only a 450 sqft area

dont go with 6 1/4 insulation cause if u have 2×6 studs then they r only 5 1/2 inches deep and ur insulation will be touching the block wall and cause problems cause of no air space……go R-13, cause the earth is a good insulator too…..
