Easiest way to attach 2×4 studs to cinder block foundation wall?
I am going to build some wood shelving racks in our unfinished basement and need some suggestions as to the EASIEST way to attach my 2×4s to the cinder block.
I would rather stay away from the lead anchor system. I used that for hanging my peg board for my tools and found it to be more of a pain because of drilling the larger holes for the anchors and I don’t own a hammer drill. Aren’t there screws out there made for use in cinder block?
P.S. I know I could buy metal shelving, but we have a LOT of boxes having moved into a smaller house, so it needs to be strong and big. Thanks in advance!
You could have it easy, (construction adhesive) or you could have it strong. Stop by the local hardware center, and ask for recommendations.
I would rent a hammer drill, and set anchors.
Another alternative is to build free standing shelves that do not need to be attached to the walls. You use a few more 2×4’s but the units can be moved.
